Echuca Moama Community Radio EMFM 104.7 is a not-for-profit Incorporated local radio station run by volunteers. We provide locally oriented music programs, interviews, current events, news, weather and warnings in emergency situations. EMFM provides a service for the local community that commercial radio stations don’t provide. We broadcast not only in Echuca and Moama but across an area bordered by Mathoura, Torrumbarry, Lockington, Elmore and Kyabram and stream to the internet 24/7.
Beginning in Matong Road Echuca, we have held a full broadcasting licence since November 4th 1997 and moved to our current rooms at the Echuca East Oval in Sutton Street on the 12th February 2007. The transmitter is on site and with 2 production studios and an office, Radio EMFM is now technically equipped with the same facilities that you would see in a commercial radio station. Our station also has a FaceBook page.
EMFM is affiliated with the CBAA (Community Broadcasting Association of Australia) and SCMA (Southern Community Media Association).
That’s right, EMFM will be moving into purpose built studios in the new Echuca East Recreation Reserve building. But first, they have to be built. To watch a time lapse video of the building progress please click here.
We sincerely thank and highly recommend our major sponsors:- The Moama Bowling Club, H. W. Greenham & Sons and Collins Booksellers Echuca, our minor sponsors, and of course a huge thank you to all our valued members and volunteers.
We are a not-for-profit organisation funded entirely by sponsors announcements, memberships, government grants and donations. You may like to become an active member of our station or you may just wish to donate. We are always looking for new people and we would love you to be part of it.
Earlier this year, EMFM was nominated in the Campaspe Community Volunteer Awards. We received a letter from the Campaspe Shire as recognition for all our volunteers hard work. The letter can be read by clicking HERE.
